Lata Shanker
Lata Shree Shanker brings a unique blend of professional expertise and tireless community dedication to the BJANA Executive Committee. A native of Purnea, Bihar, Lata and her husband Shashi reside in New Jersey with their two smart daughters. As a mother of young adults, Lata deeply understands the critical importance of youth engagement and cultural continuity in the diaspora.
Professionally, Lata is a Defensive Financial Planner with a Computer Science degree and has a background in teaching at the school system. Since connecting with BJANA in 2019, Lata and her entire family have been volunteering for every single BJANA event. She also actively preserves our culture as a dedicated Volunteer Hindi Teacher on weekends and previously led cultural committees in Pune, India. Lata is proud mother of two daughters elder studying in Princeton University and younger one in high school.
Lata’s commitment is to bring each and every one of us closer and give back to society, increase youth engagement through relevant programs, and strengthen community outreach.
